Distraction. In many cases, this word can be considered the enemy of progress. You have worked hard, practiced, trained, achieved some small goals towards the big ones and then life happens and then it happens some more and suddenly that goal seems that much farther away.

The thing about distractions is that they can also be used as a stepping stone to get back to your path. Why did the thing distract you in the first place? Maybe it’s time to reevaluate your path. Is it something that can wait? If not, check your priorities. An old saying sticks out in this case, ‘the obstacle is the way’. Use your distraction to help guide you back to the path forward. Let it rekindle your passion for the goal you want to achieve and then distractions will be just a nuisance and not a wall.

Until next time, train hard.
