Yes, I am aware that this is almost a week late, but it illuminates a point. Moderation, our word this week, taking things not to either extreme, but finding the middle path to keep as much as possible in balance. Getting things done when you can, but still getting them done.
“The man who makes everything that leads to happiness depends upon himself, and not upon other men, has adopted the very best plan for living happily. This is the man of moderation, the man of manly character and of wisdom.” – Plato
Your happiness depends on you, no one else. You must realize that the only person truly responsible for you, is you. The people you choose to associate with, the path you choose to take, how much you choose to workout or practice that week, etc. It all falls to you.
Moderation is remembering not to overdo it, but also not to do so little that the effort is practically meaningless. When it comes to martial arts, you are responsible for knowing just how much your body can handle and be able to regulate that, knowing when to push for more and when to take a break so you can recover. Only you can determine where this balance is. Try to focus on that as you work out. You will notice as time goes on, you will be able to push more and need less rest, but this doesn’t mean you should go all out all the time. Gradual increase is better than full out and then burnout. Be mindful of this, not only in training, but in all that you do.
Train hard,
