Trustworthy. The way I see it, being trustworthy is being responsible for your words. When you tell someone something, they expect it to be the truth. When someone tells you something, you expect it to be the truth. By default, most people expect the truth, not lies or deceptions.

Being trustworthy allows you to let people know that you are a responsible person, that you are dependable and honest. That you can be relied on when they truly need something and that you won’t steer them wrong.

Why is it important to be trustworthy as martial artists? I’ll put it this way, if you couldn’t trust what your Instructor tells you, would you trust the lessons themselves?

Be honest with others and they will be honest with you. It sounds simple, but it really isn’t. To be honest with someone, you first have to be honest with yourself. Ponder this for next time.

Train hard,
