“There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on
how to improve your performance the next time.“
What is the Lesson? The question we should strive to ask ourselves not only after every setback, but after every achievement as well. What did you learn? What changes can I make? How can I improve?
As human beings, we are constantly learning something, from the smallest details of our lives around us to a grand awakening and life changing lesson. Sometimes we may not recognize a lesson right away, which is why it is important to remember to take time each day to try and go over the events of the day and see what you may have missed. Many of us martial artists practice meditation as a way of doing this and meditation has fast become more mainstream in the last decade or so.
The main point is that even though defeat and failure are inevitable, they are not a permanent outcome. They are Lessons to learn from. What can I do better? What do I need more practice on? What can I learn from this? On the other hand, winning and success contain their own lessons. How did I make this happen? Is there a way to make this happen more often? Can I do more?
As you progress through life, try to take the time to reflect on what you have learned. Many people have written many life lesson stories, but they are from their own lives. What life lesson can you provide for yourself? Something to ponder until next time.
