“The universe doesn’t give you what you ask for with your thoughts – it gives you what you demand with your actions.”
Steve Maraboli,
Life, the Truth, and Being Free
Action is the process of doing what you have determined you are going to do. It is the proof of your Will. It is the physical representation of all that your mind and spirit have decided upon. It is what others define you from.
When you have chosen to act, you have chosen to define who you are. You have chosen to be your own thoughts. You have given them form and substance. Everything we do is something we decided to do. Some of it is autonomic because we are human, but even then, in our minds, it was determined that we should breathe to live. While few of us can actually turn this process off, and even fewer want to, it is entirely possible to control even your own natural functions. Choosing not to do something is still an action.
As we train, we constantly put our body and minds through stresses that many would consider simply crazy or self-harming. We know better. We are training our bodies and minds to be ready for the rigors of combat, for the inherent stress that comes with that. We train and learn our limits so that we can be prepared when we reach them. We choose this act because it is what we want. What we desire to do. We desire to live and fight to live if necessary.
When you are training and you are at that moment you are ready to give up, that is when you must ask yourself if you have truly given all you have or is your mind holding you back? The answer to that question is based on how strong you have honed your Will and determination.
