Growth is the word of the week and when it comes to Transition, it is probably one of the most important aspects. The biggest thing about Transition and Change is that there is almost always an opportunity for you to grow from it. You can choose to find new ways to be and new ways of looking at things that can help you further along your path.
In Martial Arts, this occurs all the time as you progress. Each new rank brings you new things to learn, but also new ways of looking at the things you have already learned, hopefully making them even better. Bruce Lee, a famous martial artist, once said he would be more afraid of a person that practiced one kick a thousand times than a person who practiced a thousand kicks. You can see in this philosophy that what he means to say is that if you practice your basics over and over, even as you progress in level, you will find new ways to grow and use those techniques than you did when you first learned them.
In all things, especially the difficult ones, try to find ways to grow from the experience, rather than allow it to keep you the same. Growth is a part of life, it is what makes us human. When you grow, you learn.
